Led by Chef Aaron Heath, previously of Cafe 808 in Kula, and owned by his wife, Fran Heath, Kalei’s Lunchbox operated their food truck, initially in Lahaina, then in Kahului from 2016 to 2022. They returned to their brick and mortar roots at a restaurant in Pukalani in the middle of the pandemic in 2021. In 2022 they began serving the Wailuku area from their new Maui Lani Shopping center outlet. Their newest venture brings Kalei’s full circle, home to Lāhainā. Come join our ‘ohana at the Cannery Mall, right next to Safeway.

Love the specials. They have lau lau too! So authentic tasting and very good! The place has better food than most other highly rated touristy restaurants. And the prices are so much more reasonable.

We loved the food and the friendly island vibes. I had the short ribs and they were delicious. The macaroni salad was also tasty. My hubby had the loco moco. The hamburger was cooked perfectly as was the egg. The food here is plentiful and the service is prompt. The staff made sure we had boxes and even came by to refill our drinks. This was the best dinner we've had so far on the island. Thank you Kaleis for a wonderful dining experience filled with the aloha spirit, mahalo!

... instead of trying another one of the most popular restaurant recommendations tonight, we opted for this... which resembled a Zippy's, but IMO, MO BETTA!! Everyone was craving some traditional "plate lunch"..... and this place did NOT disappoint!!
EVERYTHING was delicious and beyond fantastic in taste, quality and VERY reasonably priced! The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. They seemed to work a tag-team kind of service where you order when you enter, but are served your food by a wait staff team. Whatever they did, worked and the food was served prompt & efficiently!
Every staff member overly thanked us for coming in, and I got the feeling they had rebuilt this shopping center after the fire and needed everyone to start supporting them again...
